Fire and Smoke Damage Restoration Services

After our knowledgeable, friendly technicians arrive at your home, they will perform the following tasks to restore your property.

Inspection. A&A Restoration technicians arrive at your home to determine the cause and amount of damage. They will likely wear personal protection equipment (PPE) to prevent lung damage from remaining chemical particles and other debris. Some damage is easily visible, while some must be smelled to determine its location. Smoke odors seep into the fabrics of drapes, carpeting, furniture, pillows and other soft goods.

Tarping and Boarding. We will board up or tarp home components such as windows, doors and roof sections that are no longer fully functional. The goal is to keep vandals, debris, and precipitation from entering and further damaging your home.

Water Removal. Water from firefighters’ hoses or broken pipes may cause damage beyond that from the fire itself. Our technicians employ industrial-strength pumps and vacuum equipment to extract standing water quickly; this helps to prevent mold damage. We remove and dry waterlogged items to inhibit the growth of mold and mildew. Items that cannot be dried and cleaned must be thrown out for the sake of your family’s health.

Cleaning and Soot/Smoke/Odor Removal. While you can clean up some of the damage yourself by laundering clothing and scrubbing pots and pans, wall surfaces and more, it is best to leave the cleaning of valuable items and those that have been saturated with water, soot and/or smoke to the professionals. Sanitizing and cleaning after a fire is difficult, but we can do it!

As a professional fire restoration company, A&A Restoration has all the right equipment — air scrubbers and foggers, and products specially designed to clean scorch marks, charring, smoke, soot and odor from surfaces and belongings. Before applying a cleaning solution, we test a small section, so we know how which product and how much of it is best for each surface and item. While odors are generally removed with the smoke and soot, some may linger. We minimize odors with specialized deodorizing products, but you may want to consider having your air ducts cleaned after restoration has been completed.

Restoration. Fire damage restoration includes structural rehabilitation. Damaged drywall, floor boards and carpeting are removed and replaced. While we do this work as well as painting new drywall, you may find it necessary to hire a contractor to rebuild areas of your home that were destroyed.
